If you’re considering buying the RadMission 1 you are probably wondering how fast the electric bike goes. This article will cover the top speed, speed controls, and motor specifications.
How fast does the RadMission 1 go?
The RadMission 1 is a class 2 e-bike with a motor that can reach a top speed of 20 mph without pedaling. It operates with both pedal assist and throttle assist but the motor will stop when the bike reaches the maximum speed limit.
Although the motor shuts off at 20 mph, riders can go faster than the programmed speed limits by pedaling or going downhill. Going faster than the top speed will not damage the motor.
How do you control the speed of the RadMission 1?
The RadMission 1 comes with a pedal assist control panel and a twist throttle on the handle bars. The benefit of having the option to choose is what makes Rad Power Bikes stand out from traditional e-bikes.
Pedal Assist (5 Settings)
The pedal assist control panels had a range of five settings going from zero to four. Zero provides no assistance from the motor and four provides a high-level of assistance. You can accelerate to the max speed very quickly on the highest setting.

Twist Throttle
The twist throttle on the RadMission’s right handlebar grip makes going from a complete stop to the top speed effortless. Simply twist the throttle a quarter-turn to engage the motor like a motorcycle.
