Some electric bike manufacturers advertise that their batteries recharge as you pedal, but this is not a common feature for electric bikes.
Do Rad Power Bikes recharge when you pedal?
Electric bikes from Rad Power Bikes do not recharge when you pedal. In theory, this seems like an attractive feature but it actually would decrease the performance of the bike. In order to generate enough energy to charge the battery, you would need to add pedaling resistance which would slow the rider down. Additionally, adding these regenerative components would increase the cost and weight of the e-bike.
The benefits of a pedal-powered battery charger on an e-bike are not worth the costs.
