There are a lot of athleisure brands that tout style and comfort for a high price. I was never one to drop $100 on yoga pants until I started living in them every single day. When the pandemic hit, I finally invested in my first Beyond Yoga set, and man… these leggings are like wearing a second skin.
I bought the classic black (darkest night) spacedye midi pocket legging which looks more like black and charcoal micro stripes blended together.

If you’re looking for highly compressive leggings these are not the best fit for you. Beyond Yoga does have different compression styles such as their line of Compression Lux leggings and Sportflex leggings. I prefer the Spacedye for lounging, yoga, and pilates. I will also walk, hike and do strength training workouts in these.
Quality & Comfort
As someone who does yoga and low-intensity workouts, these leggings are top-of-the-line luxury. I find myself turning to these over and over again. Whether I am working in them or exercising they are always my first choice simply because of how unique they are.
Some athletic wear is not meant to be washed and dried. I know many friends who would never put sports bras or leggings in the dryer. These have definitely held up to washing in terms of the fabric. I have found some loose threads of stitching here and there, but it’s certainly nothing that will compromise the integrity of the piece. I know these will last me for years to come.
The fabric is made of 87% Polyester and 13% Lycra and truly stretches in every direction. They are moisture-wicking and what’s even better is how easily you care for them, turn them inside out to wash and dry. The leggings have a 5″ high waistband and are supposed to hit just above the ankle. I am 5’4” and they fall perfectly above my ankles. I had been pining over buying a pair of these leggings for years and I finally drank the kool aid.
With the pocket trend at an all time high, I think Beyond Yoga was smart to jump at the chance to put spacedye to the test. The pocket will fit any phone of any size because the fabric is so stretchy.
Beyond Yoga Legging Sizing
Headquartered in Los Angeles, Beyond Yoga clothing is made in California. The brand is setting out to make you feel comfortable in your own skin and live BEYOND. They offer extended sizes ranging from 1X-4X. I think considering them “extended” is a bit unnecessary, they should just be normal!
These leggings are definitely true to size. The size chart is very accurate. It’s helpful to measure yourself with a tape measure to find your size if you aren’t quite sure. You can size up or down depending on how you like your pants to fit.

How do Beyond Yoga midi leggings fit?
I went with a size medium and they are my favorite lounge legging for both style and comfort. I don’t know when athletic pants started to be made without a waist seam, but Beyond Yoga still has the top seam and I have always been a fan. It keeps them in place when practicing yoga without the need to pull them up. If you wear them multiple times without washing, as I do on workdays (I promise I wash after exercising), because of the top band they stay where they should. I went with a medium because that was my typical size in most leggings.
I have also tried a size small to see how the fit would differ because I tend to be between sizes. Spacedye is so stretchy that both sizes fit fine. I prefer the medium when lounging and the small when exercising.
Beyond Yoga adds new colors to their seasonal collection of spacedye fabric regularly. This means all spacedye, so you can mix and match your tops and bottoms, or buy a matching set. They also have a core collection that is always available.
The classic colors are darkest night (black), black-charcoal, nocturnal navy, silver mist (light gray), and the new chai (a pinky-neutral tone). They do add some new colors here and there to the core collection, such as chai.
Are Beyond Yoga leggings worth it?
Overall, Beyond Yoga Spacedye is like nothing I have ever experienced before. Their clothing is perfect for the current work-from-home situation many of us find ourselves in, but they are truly the pants for anything.
