Important Considerations

Material and Durability

The Coleman SaluSpa Inflatable hot tub is a circular tub measuring 77 inches in diameter and 28 inches in depth. You can choose from a selection of colors including black, green, or orange. Most people prefer the standard green and white as it will complement the colors of their lawns or gardens. You can place this inflatable hot tub on any surface that will maintain its filled weight plus the weight of the individuals planning to enjoy this tub (2100+ lbs). For instance, we would recommend placing it on a firm surface such as a lawn, pavement, concrete, or stone.

The tub is composed of triple-layered PVC as a shell, with reinforced polyester mesh in the center. Effectively, this material and construction are extremely durable and puncture-resistant which is perfect for set-up and normal wear-and-tear. The walls are built with vertical air pockets that act as I-beams; this provides shape, strength, and stability that will last many years.

Further, the insulated floor and cover help to retain the heat of the water. Overall, although the insulated floor could provide more cushion for the feet, the materials and construction of this inflatable floor are simple, practical, and durable.

Easy Set-Up and Maintenance

The set-up for the Coleman SaluSpa is quick and easy. Many customers report that it took them around 40 minutes to unpack, set up, and inflate properly. On the other hand, it is important to keep in mind that the hot tub will need up to 24 hours to heat up to the maximum temperature (104 degrees) depending on your initial water temperature; it heats water slowly compared to some other tubs. Additionally, maintenance is also easy as long as you complete it regularly.

Along with the inflatable spa, Coleman includes one filter cartridge, a chemical floater, a patch, and maintenance instructions. It would be wise to stock up on extra filters, as they are constantly cleaning the water and it will be important to replace them as soon as they are dirty.

You will also need to purchase hot tub chemicals to create optimal water; Coleman included a ChemConnect chemical dispenser that will deliver a consistent, calculated amount of chlorine into your spa so you will not need to worry about adding more regularly.

Special Features

We saved the best part for last, all the special features: the jets, the digital control panel, the built-in timer, and temperature detection are all extraordinary additions.

The Coleman SaluSpa includes 114 bubble jets that provide relaxing and soothing massage and heat; the amount of bubble jets they included seems to be the Goldilocks of just right for pain, pressure, and tension relief.

The digital control panel allows you to control the temperature and the bubble jet with ease while the timer lets you set the temperature up to three days in advance (72 hours).

Finally, this inflatable hot tub acknowledges when your water temperature dips below your preferred heat, and will automatically switch on the heater to ensure you never get chilly. That said, you cannot use the bubble jets and the heater at the same time.

Is the Coleman SaluSpa Inflatable Hot Tub worth buying?

Overall, if you desire a practical and durable inflatable hot tub that provides some serious comfort and relaxation, the Coleman SaluSpa Inflatable Hot Tub is absolutely worth purchasing. There are a few downsides to this hot tub.

The floor could use further cushioning, the heater is slow to heat the water, and the bubble jets and heater cannot be used simultaneously. The ease of set-up and maintenance, along with how simple it is to use the control panel and timer, is the strongest attraction point for this inflatable spa. The amazing price doesn’t hurt much either!

Does the Coleman SaluSpa get hot?

The Coleman SaluSpa can reach a temperature of 104 degrees Fahrenheit. It is slower than average at heating the water, heating at a rate of 2-3 degrees Fahrenheit per hour.

Can you use the Coleman inflatable hot tub in winter?

Although most inflatable hot tubs are not recommended for winter-time use, the Coleman SaluSpa has been used by many customers during a snowy and cold (below 10 degrees Fahrenheit) winter. If you plan to do so, it would be beneficial to add further insulation to the base and cover.

How much electricity does the Coleman SaluSpa use?

A Coleman SaluSpa inflatable hot tub uses 1.25 KW per hour when heating water, and 650 watts per hour when using the bubble jets.

These numbers are on par with most inflatable hot tubs, however, many customers state that they found the Coleman SaluSpa engaged the heater continuously when the temperature was set to 104 simply because it could not maintain the heat. Some customers were able to remedy this situation by providing further insulation below the hot tub.

How long do inflatable hot tubs last?

With proper maintenance and care, hot tubs can last between 5-7 years. The Coleman SaluSpa can last up to a maximum of 7 years since its materials and construction are incredibly durable.
